The conference held on June 1-3 was organized jointly with Munich Institute of East European Law (Germany) in the framework of cooperation supported by the German Academic Exchange Service.

The participants of the conference discussed legislative support of corruption counteraction in the spheres of economy, governance and politics. They discussed the historical and socio-legal phenomenon of corruption in Ukraine and Germany, general anti-corruption norms in the EU law and domestic laws, strengthening of anti-corruption laws in Ukraine, and introduction of criminal responsibility of legal entities. Attention was devoted to more narrow spheres of legislative regulation in the European Union, Germany, Poland and Ukraine: public procurement, money laundering counteraction, control of money flows and financial flows, operation of civil service system, administrative procedures and administrative-legal protection, corporate regulation and its role in the formation of an anti-corruption environment.

Topic discussions were supplemented with the expert opinions about the role of civil society institutes in corruption counteraction. These conclusions were expressed during the round table discussion at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine on June 1, 2011. The event was organized for the second time in the framework of legislative cooperation between the Institute of Legislation and Munich Institute of East European Law.

The participants of the workshop conference believe that the discussion confirmed the important role of non-governmental organizations in corruption counteraction.
